Owned and Operated by Tim and Tess Simpson we have great area knowledge and also run the Ski Resort with Tim's brother and sister in law Hamish and Caroline. Tim's parents Doug and Jenny developed and founded Mt Lyford Village and Ski Area so the roots go back far. The area used to be the families farm until the late 80's when the farm was turned into the development with its great snowfall and settled summer weather. Tim has great knowledge of the area from the weather to the extended history and also runs Mt Lyford Express which offers transport up to the Ski Resort & Mt Lyford Adventure Park.

We also offer transport up the mountain for mountain biking and for those who prefer not to drive, walk or bike up.

A park pass can be purchased for those just on a day trip but numbers are limited to keep it uncrowded and exclusive. Purchase @ mtlyfordadventurepark.com

Set in the heart of Mt Lyford Adventure park this private property spans over three mountains from stunning native bush to mountain tops and hidden waterfalls, cascades, streams and tarns.

This is an experience like no other!

In winter have access to your own hiking basin for skiing and boarding and go to the ski resort which is around the corner for a excellent kiwi skiing experience.

Ice skate on the lake or purpose built canadian style backyard ice rink when conditions are right with skate hire available on site.

In the summer have exclusive access to three mountains to climb and hike and mountain bike the access road and ski trails out back. Swim in the lake and enjoy the breath taking views.

Stay in our beautiful little huts away from the stresses of life, unwind and get off your phones and read a book from our library in Stella hut.

Soak in your own private wood fired hot tub in front of your hut. On a clear night sit back and look at the stars or relax as snow falls around you.

Experience the rugged mountain weather and take in some of the most breath taking views on top of the world with the pacific ocean and the Clarence & Waiau Rivers in the back drop.
